Double Glazed or Triple Glazed
Both double and triple glazing are excellent thermal insulators that help reduce heat loss, cut outside noise, and improve comfort throughout the year.
Triple glazing adds an extra pane of glass, providing even greater insulation, improved noise reduction, and reduced condensation — ideal for colder rooms or where maximum energy efficiency is desired. With advanced specifications, triple-glazed units can achieve thermal performance as low as 0.6 W/m²K, helping to minimise heat loss and lower energy bills.

Frequently asked questions
Do you offer installation as well as supply?
Yes.
While many of our rooflights are supplied on a supply-only basis, we do offer a fitting service if required. Installation can be quoted as an additional cost, subject to location and project details.
What glazing bar system do I need?
We determine the appropriate aluminium glazing bar system based on the information you provide. There is no “one size fits all” option — each rooflight is specified to suit the project requirements, including span, glazing type, structural support and design intent.
We will advise on the correct system once we have reviewed your drawings, specifications or site images.
What information do you need to provide a quotation?
To prepare an accurate quotation, we ideally require:
- Builder’s kerb opening size (internal and external dimensions)
- Roof pitch (if applicable)
- Desired internal and external powder coat colour
- Glazing specification (double or triple glazed, laminated, etc.)
- Whether opening vents are required (manual or powered)
- Project location (postcode)
- Any special finish requirements (e.g. marine grade or anodised)
The more detail provided, the quicker and more accurately we can quote.
Do you supply nationwide?
Yes, we manufacture in the UK and supply nationwide. Delivery arrangements will be confirmed at quotation stage.
Are your rooflights made to measure?
Yes. All Howells rooflights are bespoke manufactured to suit your project requirements.
What lead times should I expect?
Lead times vary depending on project complexity and finish requirements, but approximately around 4 to 6 weeks. We will confirm estimated manufacturing times when issuing your quotation.
Do you provide installation guidance?
Yes. For supply-only projects, we provide installation guidance to assist your builder or roofing contractor.
Can your rooflights meet Building Regulations?
Our systems are designed with thermal performance and structural integrity in mind. Specific compliance will depend on glazing specification and overall roof build-up.
Do you supply to homeowners directly?
Yes, we can supply directly to homeowners where a builder or contractor is managing installation.
